In Florence, near the local market in the ancient San Lorenzo quarter, you’ll find the 3-star Hotel Victoria near the San Lorenzo basilica, just 500 meters from the Fortezza da Basso expo center.

Just a few steps away is the magnificent Piazza del Duomo, dominated by the majestic Santa Maria in Fiore cathedral and Brunelleschi’s celebrated dome. The square is completed by the multicolored marble climbing the Giotto bell tower and splendid San Giovanni Baptistry. Nearby, the city streets provide elegant shops in Via de’ Tornabuoni and irresistible pastries from acclaimed Florentine bakeries.

The superb architecture in Piazza della Signoria houses the copy of Michelangelo’s David and the Loggia Lanzi Gothic archway. Here stands Palazzo Vecchio, the former Medici family palace, now the city’s political and administrative hub, with its valuable Renaissance frescoes and statues.

Ponte Vecchio is one of Florence’s most famous landmarks. It is the oldest bridge on the Arno river and is crowded with jewelry shops and terraces overlooking the water with a captivating and romantic view of the city, near the Pitti Palace and historic Giardini di Boboli park.

Art lovers and non will be astounded by the grandiose collections at the Uffizi Gallery, the Bargello National Museum and the Galleria dell’Accademia, sites you must see on your endless tour of buildings, churches and monuments. Michelangelo, Botticelli, Raffaello, Giotto and Caravaggio are just some of the artists who made Florence not only the capital of the Italian Renaissance, but of art in general.

HOW TO GET THERE TO Hotel Victoria

By plane
The Florence ‘Amerigo Vespucci’ international airport is 7 km away. To get to the Hotel Victoria, take a taxi or Afaf-Sita line bus that depart every 30 minutes for the Santa Maria Novella train station. If you rent a car, follow the ring roads towards ‘Centro/Stazione’. Once you reach Viale Belfiore, take your first left, Via Monaco. At the light, turn left and cross the two underpasses heading towards Piazza della Libertà. Enter Viale Spartaco Lavagnini and turn right at the light following the sign for ‘Stazione’. Drive down Via Santa Caterina D’Alessandria passing Piazza Indipendenza on your right. The Hotel Victoria is 200 meters down on your left in Via Nazionale number 102/r.

By train
The Hotel Victoria is within walking distance from the Santa Maria Novella train station, just 200 m away. Leaving the platforms behind you, exit to Piazza della Stazione, turn left on Largo Fratelli Alinari and walk down the street until it meets with Via Nazionale, where the hotel awaits you at number 102 Taxi service is also available.

By car
From the Firenze Nord exit, follow the directions listed under point “By plane”. The A11 highway exit is near the airport. From the Firenze Sud exit, take the expressway to the city ring road and follow the signs for ‘Centro/Stazione’. Once in Piazza della Libertà, keep to your right and enter Via Lorenzo il Magnifico. Turn left at the first light on Via Poliziano, cross Viale Spartaco Lavagnini and follow the directions listed in point “By plane”.
